Sandpoint Fall Portraits | Skinner Family
This family is near and dear to my heart. To get the full picture, we have to go back to the summer of 2017. My husband and I were living on the road as full-time RVers, and we made a stop in Sandpoint for the summer to work on a small hobby farm here in Selle Valley. The day after arriving, we went to a church and immediately got ourselves plugged in and signed up for a small group Bible study and a dinner group.
The first time we met up with our dinner group was at the home of the Skinners. Friendship came easily, and little did we know that we would be purchasing a home here in Sandpoint no more than a year later. At the time, the Skinners were a family of four. We spent about two months here that summer, and then continued on our travel journeys. Soon after leaving Sandpoint, we heard that they were expecting twins!
As life would have it, we ended up purchasing a property here in May of 2018. Our relationship with the Skinners picked up right where it left off, and we couldn’t ask for better people to call friends. They are truly a gift, and the sweetest couple.
I was so excited this year when Amanda approached me about taking their family portraits! Photographing families is one thing, but photographing friends and their families is the best! With some help from grandma, they managed to rally the crew and come over to our place for their Sandpoint family portraits, and we had a blast. We managed to get through with 6 family members, high 5’s on the reg, 4 siblings, 3 falls, 2 meltdowns, 1 potty break…and a partridge in a pear tree. =P Like I said…a blast.
The work is easy when you’re having fun. That’s what I tell all my clients who think their kids are the worst I’ve ever had. It’s true! I love my “job.” It doesn’t even really feel like a job most days. And for that, I am so so thankful.
